I visited Miraval Berkshires in May 2025. My best friend Noelle and I decided to do the Watercolors and Wine class. It really was the best thing I did there. The teacher Cassandra had us do different exercises where we listened to music and then made art for a few minutes with watercolors, a black Sharpie and charcoal. One exercise included drawing something with a Sharpie looking at the paper. I picked a painting on the wall in the hallway. We had the chance to look at our drawing and me and the lady next to me laughed since it was a mess, Drawing without looking at the paper is hard! Next, we added color with watercolors.
I have done these art exercises at home and also with my youngest son. I've really enjoyed creating art even if the art isn’t any good. I told my son Theo that art doesn't have to be good and oftentimes it's not. I think creating is the most fun. Theo didn’t like my song choice and made a sad face.
I’ve read about junk journals and want to create one. I will add my artwork to my new book. I think for now I will just put it in a folder and then create a book to place my art creations in.
