Welcome to my new writing venture!
I’ve been hoping to write more on my blog Who Let the Mum Out?, but I have been reading many substack posts and I thought I should start my own. I had no idea what to write about, but I kept thinking really hard, ok not that hard, and finally it came to me.
I used to like reading the essays from Francis Bacon when I was in junior high like Of Travel, Of Truth and Of Revenge. He covered different topics and used humor in his writing which made you think about your opinions on the subject. So, I wanted to call my substack On Life but, of course, it was taken. I was thinking On Life with Jen, but again, not sounded boring. I will include titles On ____ as an homage to my first pick for a name.
I picked Bigmouth Strikes Again instead since I’m a big Morrissey fan. He was the lead singer of the band The Smiths who made the song Bigmouth Strikes Again. Also, I’m known to stick my foot in my mouth on occasion by saying stupid things.. Saying the truth when I really shouldn’t… Or just being awkward with what I say.
I plan to write about travel, marriage, Las Vegas, parenting, etc. I seem to have so much in my head, but I don’t make the time to explore it with writing it down. I hope that I can take the thoughts out of my head and share it with you. I hope I can entertain and help others through my writing. I have a lot of funny stories that I will share with you. Hopefully, I’m as witty as Francis Bacon and as silly as Morrissey.

I'm not going to lie! I clicked through your poetry post from art stack and stayed for the publication name (and I'm always interested in supporting new publications!) Ginormous Morrissey fan here!
